The new energy and exciting programs that Rabbi Strom has brought to Congregation B’nai Yisrael are evident when you step into our building or look at the programs we offer.  Our Religious School is exciting. We are back to being a growing institution. The Capital Campaign is giving us the to rejuvenate our programming and physical plant while helping secure our financial footing. It is a great time to be on the CBY Board!

My family moved to this area 20 years ago and CBY became part of our lives almost immediately. We have prayed, been educated and shared simchas and sorrows with our CBY family. We developed strong friendships and connections with fellow congregants.  I particularly have enjoyed participating in our Women’s Retreat Week-end over each of the past four years, and the Synaplex Shabbat Programs. Even just attending weekly Shabbat services is a something I look forward to as a way to mark the end of the week.  Making all members, particularly new members, experience the warmth of our caring Jewish community is one of my primary concerns as a Board member. One of the best ways to do this is to provide programs, whether the focus is religious, educational, cultural or just plain fun, that will attract members and keep them active and engaged, no matter what stage of life they are in. I urge all members to get involved. Feel free to e-mail me with suggestions or comments regarding ways we can improve any aspect of CBY. Being part of a Jewish community has always been important to me and the practice of Judaism is fundamental to my identity. Keeping Israel strong and secure is also important to me.  Our family trips included stops at important Jewish sites, something I continue this day whenever I travel. My love of Yiddishkeit and Yiddish culture were lessons learned in my house and in the summer camp I attended.
